We are a fast growing company that is committed to being the primary resource for technical consultation in our region and we're looking for a Systems Backup Administrator to join our team.

The System Backup Administrator will work with the System Administrators as well as other team members to implement the appropriate backup strategy for servers and systems across the company. The System Backup Administrator will also be a key player in the IT Business Continuity Plan as well as all Disaster Recovery plans. The System Backup Administrator will ensure that adequate retention and restoration policies are in place, and drive the corporate backup strategy, playing a key role in deciding on technology and implementation, all in compliance with applicable regulatory and procedural guidelines. The System Backup Administrator operates with a fair degree of independence and is relied on for proactive judgement as well as exercising exceptional care and diligence.

• Handling the installation, configuration and administration of the corporate backup systems including backup administration; backup management; RTO/RPO goals and compliance; Backup Monitoring; Maintenance
• Installing equipment and relocation as required
• Troubleshooting hardware and/or software
• Analyzing specific backup requirements
• Liaising with contract vendors
• Developing and ensuring maintenance of the inventory and database of all backups and backup media, software, equipment and parts
• Ensuring the confidentiality of appropriate data and systems
• Maintaining technical competence through reading, education, conferences, etc.
• Developing internal standards such as SOPs and maintaining documentation of the infrastructure environment
• Acting as the Archivist when the system backups act as archives for those systems that do not practically support other archiving means

• We require 3-5 years of experience in an IT focused position
• Associate's degree in a relevant field is nice but not required
• Technical Certifications such as MCITP, Support Technician, or MCSA are highly desirable
• Strong experience working in Active Directory 
• Strong experience with VEEAM or similar backup technologies
• Experience troubleshooting, configuring, deploying, and administrating Microsoft workstations connect to a domain
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and on a consistent basis
• Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver effectively in a fast paced environment
• You should possess excellent communication and client service skills, both written and oral, including a proven ability to create detailed technical documentation
• Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment and deliver on commitments in a timely manner
• You should possess strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems
