The part time Group Facilitator ensures that group work in the agency’s abuse intervention program is aligned with the program's philosophy and that program participants receive the full curriculum. Group Facilitators work with the Bilingual Facilitator Supervisor to ensure the goals, objectives, and work efforts of the programs are consistent with the mission of the House of Ruth Maryland and advance the agency and programs’ strategic goals and objectives. Group facilitator works with Bilingual Facilitator Supervisor to advance the development of services for Spanish speaking participants and their families. Group Facilitators lead the program’s orientation sessions and conduct bio-psycho-social intake assessments with new participants. The Group Facilitator also assists with special projects such as curriculum development, trainings, and community outreach, as well as, provides back up coverage for other Facilitators on an as needed basis.
The Group Facilitator is also responsible for coordinating the Partner Engagement Initiative and organizing activities of volunteers and staff involved in contacting the current and former partners of program participants. The Partner Engagement Supervisor takes steps to introduce innovative techniques and approaches to increase the program’s success in reaching victims/partners.
Essential Duties:
· Applicant must be fluent in both Spanish and English speaking, reading and writing
· Supervise and manage the hours for partner engagement volunteers.
· Coordinate victim contact activities, including written and phone communications, and assigning duties to volunteers.
· Recruit and train student interns.
· Facilitates psycho-educational group sessions (Spanish and English) and provides back up coverage as required in accordance with the program’s curriculum and design.
· Conducts one-on-one sessions with participants as needed.
· Conduct bio-psycho-social intake assessments and orientation sessions.
· Communicate with Parole & Probation supervision agents regarding participant progress and status.
· Develops collaborative relationships with community partners and the general public.
· Maintain electronic and paper file documentation for groups and participants in keeping with program standards.
· Address issues with participants individually, including fee assessments, conflicts, referrals for additional services, and assessment of appropriateness to continue in the program.
· Collect, process, and document fees and attendance in accordance with program policy.
· Attend and participate in regular staff meetings.
· Is involved in program development activities, including group curriculum design, procedure development and implementation and creation of new program initiatives.
· Must work some evenings to provide group coverage.
Non-Essential Duties:
· Provides community education and training on intimate partner violence and agency services.
· On an as needed basis, is available by phone for crisis counseling.
