Description:

Job Title:    Warehouse Associate  (1st Shift  - $14/hour)

Department:  Warehouse

Reports To:     Logistics Supervisor / Warehouse Supervisor

 

 Summary of the Position

Process customer orders for shipment efficiently and accurately by performing the following duties.

 

Key Deliverables 

 

Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization.  Maintains accurate daily time reporting. Processes daily orders efficiently and accurately. Adjusts daily hrs according to order flow, or to cover for vacations or absence by another team member or working overtime when necessary

 

 

Key Accountability Metrics

Responsible for order fill rates, daily lines picked per man hr., daily SPO packages processed per man hr., and cost per line delivered.

 

 

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions - 95%

 

Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization – As required.

Trained to pick, pack and process customer orders.

 

Loads and unloads trucks as needed.

 

Operates all machinery required to do the job in accordance with established safety procedures.

 

Inspects machinery prior to use and changes batteries as needed

 

Completes Hazmat paperwork if applicable.

 

Maintains packaging supplies for packing area.

 

Assists in keeping the warehouse area neat and orderly.

 

May be cross-trained in other Warehouse functions.

 

Operates material handling equipment

 

 

 

Safety Training, Team Meetings & Lean concepts – 5%

  • Participates in safety training and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times
  • Attends team meetings
  • Utilizes lean tools: 5s, visual factory concepts in maintaining order, cleanliness and safe work environment

 

Education and/or Experience  

 

Required - High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

 

Preferred – or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualities Required

 

Language Skills -   Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

                                 

Mathematical Skills -   Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

                                              

Reasoning Ability -    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

                                             

Other Qualities -  Hazmat DOT Certification, if applicable.
