Position Summary:  The Site Lead Therapist is responsible for the day-to-day operations and activities of Clinical Services at the Baltimore City community counseling sites, which include the main administrative building on Argonne and the Spanish language specific site in Highlandtown. This includes supervision of staff and interns, serving as the liaison to other HRM departments, and maintaining the integrity of the program in the community. The Site Lead Therapist is also responsible for providing direct therapeutic services to victims of intimate partner violence on an ongoing basis as well as in crises. The Site Lead Therapist facilitates and supports a team approach among staff to address the trauma, mental health and other clinical issues clients may present.

 

In collaboration with the Associate Director of Clinical Services, the Site Lead Therapist ensures that the goals, objectives, and work effort of the staff at these sites are consistent with the mission of the House of Ruth Maryland and advances the agency and program’s strategic goals and objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements site-specific goals and objectives, staffing plans and staff development strategies.
  • Provides administrative and reflective supervision to clinicians working with adults, children and families.  Including hiring, establishing performance expectations, performance evaluation, establishing priorities, accountability monitoring, performance improvement interventions, and conducting regular individual supervision meetings.
  • Provides comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments for victims of intimate partner violence.
  • Provides individual trauma-based therapy and conducts support groups for victims of IPV.
  • Participates in Clinical Services staff meetings.
  • Participates in case review and peer clinical supervision with the department’s Clinical Supervisor.
  • Takes responsibility for assuring service is client-focused and culturally sensitive; strengths based, and built on a foundation of sound clinical theory and trauma-informed best practices.
  • Identifies training opportunities as well as develops and implements annual staff training and development plans.
  • Ensures Clinical staff under supervision meet professional standards of practice and State licensing requirements.
  • Uses agency information system and other methods to monitor and report on program quality and key performance indicators.
  • Ensures the collection and integrity of client/service data.
  • Identifies opportunities to use interns and volunteers, and trains, supervises, and provides support.
  • Ensures compliance with terms of contracts and grants, including grant project management and reporting. 

·         Represents HRM on local coalitions, committees and boards, and provides professional presentations for educational and marketing purposes.

·         Establishes service linkage agreements to increase the number of clients served, and to provide comprehensive services to clients.

·         Makes recommendations to Associate Director of Clinical Services for service adaptation based on best practices established by research in the field.

  • Holds team meetings regularly.

·         Meets weekly with direct reports for a one-on-one check in, or a team meeting, to provide feedback and direction.

Experience/Requirements:

  • LCSW-C board approved supervisor, or eligible to apply for approval. 
  • Four (4) years related experience, two (2) in a supervisory capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable about therapeutic interventions with victims of trauma, their children, and family systems.
  • Knowledgeable about the dynamics of intimate partner violence.  
  • Demonstrates competence with computer systems including MS Word, Outlook and agency-wide databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and collaboratively with peers and community partners.

·         Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, enabling staff to meet goals consistently.

·         Ability to pass a criminal background check.

·         Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
