Description:

The Training Institute Coordinator is responsible for organizing the efforts of the Training Institute and ensuring the quality of its services by coordinating presentations and providing support to agency trainers. The Training Institute Coordinator also provides trainings and presentations to help individuals, professionals, community members, and other stakeholders understand the dynamics of intimate partner violence, services offered by the agency, and healthy and unhealthy intimate relationships. This position is part of the agency’s intimate partner violence education and prevention initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Schedules external presentations and negotiates fees
  • Develops and executes a marketing plan for agency trainings
  • Educates community members and other professionals about the dynamics of intimate partner violence and services offered by the agency 
  • Coordination of several multi-day trainings for external partners and the agency’s employee orientation training
  • Cover a bi-weekly shift on the agency’s 24-hour hotline
  • Assist in curricula development and delivery
  • Collect and analyze data to identify audience needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating curricula and presentations
  • Assist in the development and delivery of outreach materials
  • Maintain an accurate record keeping system including records of services provided to the community, including the timely entering of information into the agency database
  • Assists in development of internal training opportunities for staff
  • Oversees the training program for agency trainers and ensures the quality of trainers
  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with community agencies and organizations
  • Supervises Training Institute staff
  • Assist in administrative tasks of program
  • Assist in supervising student interns and volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience/Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds. 
  • Experience with engaging and multi-media approaches to educational work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Demonstrates competence with computer systems including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and an agency-wide database.
  • Knowledge and experience with maintaining active social networking sites.
  • Some evening and weekend hours along with travel are required for this position.

·         Demonstrated ability to provide the leadership that enables staff to consistently meet goals.

·         Ability to pass a criminal background check.

·         Ability to understand intimate partner violence and how it affects the client population.
