Quality Technician

Reno, NV

Position Overview:   

We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Quality Technician to join our team. Under general supervision, the candidate supports the overall quality activities to ensure that the quality of the products are consistent with established standards by performing the following duties:

 

  • Define troubleshoot and assist in the resolution of daily production quality problems
  • Maintain manufacturing “quality” performance metrics and present reports to the management team
  • Assist with the proper identification and disposition of all non-conforming items
  • Track all significant product, document, and process changes which affect quality
  • Creates and performs incoming inspection of critical production material
  • Quarantines discrepant material when defects are detected
  • Screens inventory to locate all instances of reported defects
  • Performs statistical analysis of collected data to focus quality improvement efforts
  • Performs physical and transactional movements of discrepant materials
  • Provides internal audit support
  • Ensure that all inspection/manufacturing/test equipment in use is properly calibrated
  • Advise team leader and/or manager of concerns, problems and progress of work in a timely manner 
  • Demonstrate a sound balance between quality and quantity of work while maintaining a sense of urgency toward completion

Qualified candidates should demonstrate an exemplary work ethic and possess:

  •  2 years (minimum) in a structured manufacturing environment
  •  Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred
  •  Ability to use and read measuring equipment (i.e. calipers) within .001”
  •  Interpersonal skills to relate to all levels of personnel in the organization
  •  Must have strong math skills
  •  Knowledge of documentation control
  •  Prior experience with ISO 9001 certification preferred
  •  Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel) is required
  •  Excellent organizational skills to handle a constantly changing set of priorities with minimal supervision
  •  Must be physically able to push, pull, bend, stoop, climb, reach and stand/walk on concrete floors for long periods of time
  •  Must be physically able frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Uncompromising attitude toward safety, customer service and quality
  • Must be mechanically inclined with ability to read and understand prints
