PRODUCTION PLANNER

The Harris Products Group I Mason, OH


The Harris Products
Group is looking for a Production Planner to join the Operations Team in Mason, OH. In this role, you will develop production schedules for assembly products to meet customer expectations. Additionally, you will manage manufacturing resources and achieve targeted inventory levels within the constraints of the Supply Plan provided in the Sales, Inventory & Operations Plan (SIOP process). This position is critical for achieving customer service, plant efficiency and inventory objectives.

Position overview:

  • Maintain weekly production files and metrics, provide weekly production schedules and support, maintain work instructions and procedures, and generate monthly performance reports.
  •  Work with machining and assembly management to ensure labor requirements.
  • Analyze process data, develop and implement solutions, and recommend engineering changes; may include scheduling process improvement, increase inventory turns, cycle counts, cost reduction efforts, statistical analysis, and using Lean Six Sigma methodology and teamwork.
  • Perform schedule audits to ensure customer demands are met and analyze inventory levels to meet inventory turns.
  • Maintain and utilize SAP capacity planning requirements.
  • Work with Purchasing for timely ordering and receipt of all necessary materials and provide Sales and Customer Service with delivery updates and lead times.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to facilitate optimal product flow through the plant.

Qualified candidates must possess:

  • An Associate's degree in Operations Management or equivalent discipline or a minimum of three years' related experience as a Production Scheduler.
  • Minimum of one year experience with the manufacturing aspects of SAP including a minimum of one year of Capacity Planning in SAP.
  • Excellent computer skills with a proven intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with desire to work cross-functionally and as a team.
  • Project management skills with ability to simultaneously and timely execute multiple assignments.
  • Practical problem solving ability and strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
