Description:

At Envestnet MoneyGuide, we believe everyone needs and deserves a quality financial plan. Our design team is growing as we create new products and improve existing ones to achieve that goal. We are currently looking for an experienced design professional to join our team remotely.

If you’re the one we are looking for, you are a problem solver. You have a knack for finding solutions based upon logical interface patterns and a deep empathy for the people using the software you help create. You know how important the visual language of a product can be. You know it takes collaboration, humility, and hard work to design mature and evolving products. You’re comfortable collaborating with analysts, designers, developers, and other stakeholders. You are confident you can turn new product ideas into elegant experiences and refine the UX of existing products.

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree, certification or equivalent work experience in UI, UX, or Product Design, Human-Centered Design, or Research Science

·         At least 3 years of experience working in product design at a software company. Experience in fin-tech is a big plus.

·         Strong visual design background, this position will be responsible for a substantial amount of production level design.

·         Experience creating and working within design systems.

·         Extensive experience designing and prototyping in Figma.

·         Enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Better attitudes make things more fun.

Life at Envestnet MoneyGuide:

As the innovative leader in the development and delivery of online financial planning software, our products impact millions of people and are utilized in public and private companies across the United States.  We believe an innovative product can only be developed in an innovative company; from a casual dress code to a dog-friendly workspace, we offer an environment that fosters innovation, collaboration, and independent development.  Our environment is made up of individuals with strong work ethic and the desire to work together. We are fully invested in our employees because our employees are fully invested in our products, our company, and our future!

What Success Looks Like:

A qualified candidate will become a critical part of our team as we craft products aimed at helping both finance professionals and general consumers. You will work closely with the UX Lead to provide relevant, intuitive, and valuable experiences to a wide range of target audiences. The work is challenging and requires critical thinking, creativity, humility, and an affinity for both psychology and technology.

To do this, you’ll need to:

·         Get comfortable with our software and technology stack. Our products serve both financial advisors and investors, so you’ll have to get acclimated with the ins and out of our industry-leading product.

·         Show off your expertise in Figma by driving the evolution and refinement of our design system and UI patterns.

·         Solve design problems from both a user-centric and systematic perspective. Software and systems are complicated. You know user experience is not specific to the screen the user is currently on, their experience will be shaped by the system.

·         Shepherd your work from discovery to release. You will collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and designers to refine your work, but handing off your designs to the development team is not the end of the line. You will own the product until it is released.

·         Rapidly create prototypes based on guidance from our UX Lead and UX Strategists. The prototypes you create will not only provide user’s with a great experience, but they will help our developers have a great experience implementing your designs.

·         Clearly communicate the styling, user flows, and the impact of your designs on other parts of the system. You’ll Iterate as feedback comes in and the apps evolve.

·         Speak the language of software development. If you’re also comfortable diving into HTML, CSS, or JavaScript to help implement your design work, that’s a plus, but it’s not a requirement.

Finally, success as a designer at Envestnet MoneyGuide hinges upon the ability to approach design as holistic problem solving for both user and business goals. You’ll listen to ideas, questions, and critiques from teammates with grace and patience. That said, you know your stuff and can eloquently and logically explain design decisions. Most importantly, you see this type of exchange as critical to the success of yourself and our products. Sharing ideas and being open to the brilliance of others is how we arrive at the best solutions.
