Avenir IT Inc is currently seeking a Level 3 IT Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Level 3 Technician, you will serve as a senior technical expert, adept at tackling the most formidable networking, infrastructure, and server dilemmas. Armed with astute problem-solving skills, you'll diagnose issues, implement robust solutions, and continuously elevate systems to new heights of efficiency and reliability. Your role extends beyond mere support; you'll shape the technological landscape through proactive recommendations and innovative best practices. Moreover, you'll lead the charge in addressing technical escalations that transcend the purview of our Level 2 support team.

Responsibilities:

In this pivotal customer-facing role, effective communication, expert troubleshooting, and technical prowess are paramount. Your multifaceted responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Client Support: Deliver comprehensive daily support to our esteemed clients, spanning servers, workstations, storage, backup solutions, disaster recovery systems, firewalls, switches, applications, and overall connectivity.

Systems Architecture: Collaborate closely with our team to architect and execute major infrastructure and system upgrade projects, ensuring seamless transitions and optimized performance for our clients.

Project Lead Engineer: Take the helm in executing project installations and implementations, assuming hands-on responsibility for each project's entire lifecycle, from conception to client delivery.

R&D: Dive into the realm of research and development alongside our team, exploring, testing, and evaluating emerging products and technologies to keep our solutions at the forefront of innovation.

Escalation Resolution: Stand as the ultimate problem-solving authority, swiftly remedying the most complex IT challenges that elude other technicians, ensuring our clients' operations remain uninterrupted and optimized.

Requirements:

Join our team if you possess the following expertise in software, hardware, and technologies:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience: Demonstrated proficiency as a systems administrator or in a similar capacity supporting Microsoft 365 environments.

  • Minimum 3 years of customer-facing experience: Proven track record in engaging directly with clients to address their IT needs
    .

  • Minimum 2 years of experience and knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of virtualization technologies, the Microsoft technology stack, modern server operating systems, and hardware.

  • Comprehensive knowledge: Ability to support Microsoft, Apple, and Android systems both on-premises and in the Cloud.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 management and administration:** Mastery of Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive & Teams, Intune, Exchange, and Azure AD.

  • Systems experience: Expertise in MS Active Directory, Exchange, SQL databases, Remote Desktop Services, VMware/vCenter, and group policy management.

  • Networking prowess: Proficiency in Meraki, Ubiquiti, Cisco, firewall (FortiGate and SonicWall), TCP/IP protocol, IP addressing, VPN, networking design, SSL certificates, DNS, DHCP, VOIP & cloud-based phones.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure and backup monitoring tools.**

  • Modern security expertise:** Understanding of SSO/MFA, Zero Trust, SASE, CASB, EDR, SEIM, AV, etc.

  • Solid understanding of complex IP networks.

  • Strong interpersonal skills: Including exceptional written and verbal communication, effective time management, project management abilities, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Proficiency in presenting technical and business subjects: Ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong work ethic: Demonstrated attention to detail and a relentless drive for success.

  • Ability to work independently: Alongside the capacity to mentor L1 & L2 Technicians.

  • Minimum five years of relevant IT experience: Including comprehensive support and construction of SMB environments.

  • Residency in or proximity to Winnipeg: This is not a remote WFH position. Must have access to reliable transportation.
