The Barrie School athletic coaching staff is dedicated to creating a safe, challenging, and enjoyable experience for athletes. Coaches meet the expectations of Barrie School’s athletic department. They secure all required certifications, training, and clearances. Coaches adhere to the essential duties of athletic personnel. Our coaches operate under the following principles:
Teach the Game. The goal is to win the competition, but the focus is on education and improvement. Coaches emphasize the fundamentals. They identify teachable moments and stimulate a learning environment.
Inspire the Players. Confidence improves performance and attitude. Our coaches support, praise, and empower our athletes. Coaches motivate players to own their development and aspire to reach their full potential.
Lead the Team. Coaches are role models by profession. They positively influence our athletes and guide the team with integrity and poise. We teach our players to do the same.
Athletic coaches at Barrie School have a duty to safeguard the health and well-being of student athletes. Every coach understands these responsibilities with a coordinated plan to minimize issues, address conflict, and protect students. In accordance with the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), athletic coaches at Barrie adhere to the 14 Legal Duties of Athletic Personnel.

Schedule Overview
12 week season (mid November to end of February)
2-3 practices a week from 2:15-3:30pm
Approximately 10-12 games
