Job Title: Master Maintenance Technician

Summary of Position
Performs and documents all tooling setups, runouts and troubleshoots equipment associated to Aluminum, Rings and Return bend departments. Individual is required to have strong mechanical ability and spend 95% of time monitoring machinery or operating to be cognizant of the manufacturing machinery and hardware requirements to improve reliability. This position requires a high regard for safety at all times in performing any tasks associated with working for Harris Products Group.
Key Deliverables
· Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization.
· Executes daily setups and preventative maintenance.
· Reduce unscheduled downtime.
· Repeatable, accurate and stable equipment to support processes.
· Accurate information and instructions communicated to team members.
· Supports lean initiatives to facilitate team goals/metrics.
· ECR’s / Procedures – initiating and or supporting improvements with equipment, tooling and setups.
· Participates in team meetings and works on cost savings projects.
· Inventory – equipment parts and tooling
Key Accountability Metrics
· Safety metrics
· Production schedule completion percentage
· PMS completion percentage
· ECR’s completion rate on improved tooling and equipment
· Procedure- new or updates related to tooling or equipment improvements
· Customer Returns
· Hold tickets
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Include the following and other duties maybe assigned.
Works safely and supports safety within their team and across the organization
Scheduled Maintenance and Setups - 75%
· Completes weekly and daily maintenance schedule
· Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and documents and or updates as needed
· Schedule repairs of equipment
· Operates material handling equipment, scissor lift and manipulating man lift when needed
· Works on team projects, Six Sigma projects and provides support for other team meetings and projects.
· Correctly fills our work orders and time sheets
· Machine setups
Breakdown Maintenance – 20%
· Observes operation of equipment or tooling, troubleshoots abnormalities, dismantles equipment to gain access, determines faulty parts, requisitions parts, reassembles equipment, tests and runs out, makes sure equipment is in good, safe working operation and returns it to production and documents all breakdowns.
· Maintains repair parts inventory, supplies & tooling
· Communicates pertinent information to maintenance manager, department engineer and or department supervisor.
· Trains personnel from within or other departments to recognize problems and issues with equipment.
Safety Training, Team Meetings & Lean concepts – 5%
· Participates in safety training and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times
· Attends team meetings
Education and/or Experience
Required -
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance or mechanical related fields.
· Good trouble shooting skills in mechanical and pneumatic systems for production machinery and support equipment.
· Able to read and understand mechanical, tooling and pneumatic prints
· Must be computer literate
·
Preferred-
· Operate material handling equipment, scissor lift and manipulating man lift
· Experienced in welding, fabricating and pipe fitting.
· Experience with Lean tools
· Understands electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints
· Understand ladder logic for relays and PLCs
· Familiar with Allen Bradley PLCs, SLC, Micro Logix and Control Logix
· Familiar with Logix 500, Logix 5000 and RSLinx
· Familiar with operation of HMIs (touch screens)
· Be able to install and set up AC & DC drives
· Familiar with NEC as applies to Industrial applications

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
