Position overview:
This position oversees the employee staff within their area to ensure departmental goals and targets are met. In this role, you will coach/mentor Leads and Supervisors as well as lead efforts of training, evaluating, rewarding, counseling, scheduling, hiring and terminating employees. With a high regard for safety at all times, this position is critical for achieving customer service, plant efficiency, and inventory objectives.

Candidates must possess an exemplary work ethic and have:
-
Associate’s degree in Business Management, Operations, or equivalent; or at least two years’ of related experience as a manufacturing supervisor; or at least five years’ related experience as a manufacturing lead.

Solid understanding of manufacturing processes with strong problem solving and project management skills.

Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment and efficiently execute multiple assignments of varying scope.

Attention to exercising strict confidentiality in regard to personnel matters while assisting and supporting employees with work-related issues.

Prefer Bachelor’s degree in an above mentioned area, Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, experience with Lean tools and Lean Manufacturing, and proficiency with SAP ERP system.
Major responsibilities:

Coach and develop direct reports, Leads and Production Supervisors and lead weekly production meetings to discuss metrics, targets, and performance reports.

Know, understand, and effectively utilize the various tools of Lean Manufacturing to support and lead continuous improvement efforts.

Oversee scheduling and execution of work orders and fill in for other supervisors and leads as necessary to meet customer requirements across the facility.

Educate and motivate personnel on the importance of attaining key accountability metrics and establish and maintain sound communications with subordinates, peers, and management.

Review, analyze, and correct inventory and Kanban levels to ensure accuracy and work with Purchasing to ensure timely order of necessary materials.

Support and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations in a consistent and professional manner while setting a positive example, boosting morale, and encouraging teamwork.

Use lean tools: 5S and visual factory concepts in maintaining order and cleanliness.

Track daily time of production personnel and maintain training levels and performance for all subordinates.

Lead cross-functional teams to facilitate optimal departmental performance and analyze opportunities and implement solutions to enhance processes, increase inventory turns, cycle counts, cost reduction efforts, statistical analysis, etc.

Assist with the establishment and adherence to departmental budgets and alignment with strategic initiatives.
