PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR I | 3rd Shift

The Harris Products Group, a Lincoln Electric company headquartered in Mason, Ohio, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of gas welding and cutting equipment, industrial and specialty gas regulation equipment, gas distribution systems, brazing and soldering alloys and welding consumables.

Position overview:

The position of Production Supervisor I is considered a direct successor to the Production Supervisor II position.  In this role, the future manufacturing leaders will hone their skills in progressing responsibilities to eventually supervise all resources (people, machines, materials, and processes) in an assigned area.  As a leader and with a high regard for safety at all times, you will take on direct management of individuals and assume shared ownership for other areas of responsibility to meet customer quality production requirements.  You will lead efforts of hiring and terminating employees, completing production work schedules, training, coaching, conducting performance evaluations, and rewarding and counseling employees in accordance with policies and applicable laws.

Candidates must possess an exemplary work ethic and have:

  • An associates degree in Business Management, Operations Management or equivalent, or a minimum of two years’ related supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, or a minimum of five years' related experience as a team lead in a manufacturing environment; bachelor's degree in the above disciplines preferred.

  • Strong computer skills; SAP preferred.

  • Prefer Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and Lean Manufacturing experience.  

  • Attention to exercising strict confidentiality in regard to personnel matters while assisting and supporting employees with work-related issues.

Major responsibilities:

  • Monitor weekly production schedules and support.

  • Review, analyze, and correct inventory levels to ensure accuracy.

  • Lead weekly production meetings to discuss metrics and targets and provide monthly performance reports.

  • Ensure all equipment in respective departments is maintained to appropriate standards.

  • Support and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

  • Use lean tools: 5S and visual factory concepts in maintaining order and cleanliness.

  • Track daily time of production personnel and maintain training levels for all subordinates.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to facilitate optimal departmental performance and analyze opportunities and implement solutions to enhance processes.

  • Ensure successful completion of assigned plant projects on time and within budget.
