Position overview:

Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinders, polishers, mills and lathes to machine dies and parts without assistance or supervision and operates material handling equipment when needed.

Verifies that all dies and parts meet specifications and quality standards.

Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances and measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining.

Correctly fills work orders, time sheets, and log sheets for die repairs.

Examines standard or previously used dies and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and observes machine is in good, safe working operation.

Studies blueprints, sketches, models, or description to determine materials required and machines used to machine dies and other parts.

Ability to communicate effectively with lead supervisor and team.

Participates in safety trainings and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times.

Assists in maintaining die inventory and supplies.

Qualified candidates should demonstrate an exemplary work ethic and possess:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and prefer one to two years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
-
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
-
Ability to add, subtract, calculate figures and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions and basic algebra and geometry

Reliable transportation and strong attendance record with flexibility to work overtime if needed.

Ability to pass background check, drug screen and physical.

Must be computer literate.

Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Work demands occasional strenuous effort. For example, handling of moderately heavy boxes, tools, equipment or materials; walking/climbing or sitting/standing in a fixed position for extended periods of time; working around moving parts/machines; working with irritant chemicals, etc. Employee is required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, coats, boots, gloves, or shields; may require working in adverse weather conditions.
