PROCESS ENGINEER II

Are you an experienced Process Engineer with an innovative, strategic approach and an eye for detail?  Are you focused on continuous improvement and meeting departmental objectives?  If so, Harris wants you on our team!

Position overview:

The Harris Products Group, a Lincoln Electric company, is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Operations team in Mason, OH.  In this position, you will improve manufacturing processes and lead engineering and capital projects to boost productivity, quality and profitability.  You will spend 50% of your time providing engineering support on the manufacturing floor and will work closely with members of the production and quality teams to ensure equipment is operated safely, processes are ran according to procedure, and that weekly production schedules are met.  This role will establish manufacturing standards and monitor and report product area quality, scrap, and rework performance. You will determine root cause and develop corrective actions using various Six Sigma tools such as FMEA, Cause and Effect, Control Charts and more. The selected candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, take initiative and have superior process troubleshooting skills.

Qualified candidates must be goal-oriented team players and possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline such as Metallurgy, Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical and a minimum of five years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, Minitab, and SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

  • Knowledge of ISO quality systems, 5S methodologies, Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma tools; Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher preferred.

  • Strongly prefer process troubleshooting skills in PLC’s, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems for production machinery.  

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with experience working cross-functionally and presenting information to all levels of personnel.

  • Ability to simultaneously and timely execute multiple assignments of varying scope to ensure smooth work flow.

  • Practical problem solving ability and experience dealing with multiple variables where limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to create and write reports, correspondence, and procedures with ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical specifications.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including ability to conduct DOE, Measurement System Analysis and FMEA’s.
