PIEtech, Inc. is seeking a motivated Financial Mathematician to focus on cash-flow based calculations.  This position is part of our Analyst Team, a highly collaborative group involved in the research, design, and testing of our financial planning software.

Primary roles and responsibilities include the following:

  • Research financial concepts and trends related to the financial planning industry
  • Design cash-flow based calculators for financial planning
  • Develop mathematical and statistical models for cash-flow based financial planning calculators
  • Test math models for functionality and adherence to specifications
  • Collaborate with the Business Analysts for client requirements and feedback on user experience and user interface
  • Work with developers to ensure correct implementation of calculations
  • Organize deliverables, demo features and manage client satisfaction

Skills:

Qualifications:

  • MUST have 3 years of experience creating cash flow calculations 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages such as VBA, Python, C, R
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in financial planning. 
  • Previous experience in mathematical modeling or actuarial sciences
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment with frequent customer contact
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in solving problems
  • Must be willing and able to handle the pressures of our fast-paced software development cycle
  • Strong attention to detail
