The company was formed in 2006 with the merger of Harris Calorific, Inc., a manufacturer of gas welding and cutting equipment and gas regulation and distribution systems since 1905 , and the J.W. Harris Co., a manufacturer of brazing and soldering alloys and welding consumables founded in 1914.

The Harris Products Group currently operates manufacturing facilities in Mason, Ohio, USA; Gainesville, Georgia, USA; Dzierzonow, Poland; and Maua, São Paulo, Brazil. Each is ISO 9001 certified for quality management systems.

WAREHOUSE LEAD - 1st shift - 8am - 5pm

Position overview:

·         Facilitates daily operations, order flows, staffing needs, and receipts

·         Processes daily orders through LTL and SPO

·         Can PGI and scan daily orders and file

·         Tracks and posts daily team performance data

·         Loads and unloads trucks as needed

·         Operates all machinery required to do the job in accordance with established safety procedures

·         Inspects machinery prior to use and changes batteries as needed

·         Maintains packaging supplies for packing area              

·         Directs the activities of workers on the assigned shift to ensure an efficient flow of orders.

·         Ensures all employees are abiding by established safety procedures.  Immediately corrects any unsafe acts, reports any accidents, incidents or near misses to EHS or HR Manager as well as the Department Manager and documents them

·         Ensures warehouse area is kept neat and orderly and any unsafe conditions are immediately corrected and reported to the Department Manager

·         Assists in the performance review process

·         Communicates daily with the Department Manager and other Leads

·         Communicates Team Metrics and helps develops better methods to reach the department goals

·         Trained in all Warehouse Associate functions and performs whatever function necessary throughout the shift

·         Oversees completion of Hazmat paperwork if applicable

·         Assists in completion of EHS inspection checklists

·         Participates in scheduled meetings involving Warehouse Manager, Supervisors and other Leads

Qualified candidates should demonstrate an exemplary work ethic and possess:

  • Required: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Preferred: one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve common goals
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Physically capable to stand for extended periods of time and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance record with flexibility to work overtime if needed.
  • Ability to pass background check, drug screen and physical.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Work demands occasional strenuous effort.  For example, handling of moderately heavy boxes, tools, equipment or materials; walking/climbing or sitting/standing in a fixed position for extended periods of time; working around moving parts/machines; working with irritant chemicals, etc.  Employee is required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, coats, boots, gloves, or shields; may require working in adverse weather conditions.
