Primary Responsibilities:
Key engineering principal responsible for project management developing technical vision of essential manufacturing solutions. Provides creative insight into meeting challenging customer demands through specialized tooling & fixturing. Provides rich environment for L2 & L1 engineers to expand understanding of engineering, manufacturing and inspection methods to distinguish KVI in exceeding customer requirements beyond the print. Comprehensive knowledge of successful manufacturing methodologies across multiple disciplines (Production Milling/Turning/Swiss/EDM/Gear Cutting/Broaching/Die Stamping/Molding, etc.). Programming. Thorough understanding of heat treating, metallurgy as it relates to material selection for different designs and uses of parts & tooling, finishing and other post-manufacturing processes and how they impact manufacturing. Excellent competence in understanding/executing design, and the related geometric tolerances, tolerance stacking, form, fit and functionality required to understand our customers’ needs beyond the print. Also acts as a design liaison with customers providing technical guidance.
Essential Duties:

Develops and write process plans to produce highly complex parts produced in up to 5 Axis milling and multi axis mill turns and swiss up to 13 axes.
Inspection Plan engineering.
Clear understanding of lights out machining concepts to execute design and implementation of production plans.
Programming & Associated Documentation
Key leadership and visionary in fostering creative technical manufacturing solutions for customers and internal applications.
Ability to see past part requirements to provide technical solutions that create value for KVI and our customers in exceeding customer requirements.
Provides tolerance guidance to customers and internally for process control requirements required for process planning and control.
Designs functional gaging, workholding and custom fixtures.
Works with customers to understand their needs and provide creative, cost-effective solutions.
Provides guidance and training to Level 2 and Level 1 engineers to enhance engineering acumen in key processes, fixturing, tooling, and cutting tool design.
Extremely comfortable creating solutions on PC based applications and software.
Provides expertise to Manufacturing to solve critical challenges (Problem Solving).
Supports Sales by developing creative solutions to address customer challenges and acting as a technical liaison for estimating.
Supports Quality Assurance by developing creating solutions and create and address demanding inspection plans and problems.
MRB authority for non-conforming product disposition (Effective Date: TBD)
Set Up Swiss Machines
Training Swiss Machine operators.
Secondary Duties:

Troubleshoots Quality and Manufacturing process plans for efficient and effective solutions
