Position Summary:

The Engagement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, engaging, and maintaining family and community relationships with the goal of increasing active, ongoing participation in Head Start programming.

• Identifies and pursues sources for non-federal match (i.e. grants, donors, volunteers). Responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with all sources.
• Oversee the program's non-federal match plan.
• Recruit and coordinate volunteers. Serve as a community liaison for Bauer Family.
• Plan and organize volunteer activities
• Recognize volunteers and donors to ensure maximum levels of engagement.
• Provide timely monitoring, tracking, reporting, and compliance with grant awards.

To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. THe individual must be able to successfully pass background checks.

Education/Certification/Licensure:

• Bachelor's Degree in sociology, psychology, education, family studies, or other related field

Experience Required:

• 2-3 years previous field experience

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong Math skills
• Attention to detail
• Organization and time management
• Strong connection with the community
