Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing engineering process methods, researching new cutting tools and products. Works with Manufacturing to efficiently and effectively execute process plans. Integrates engineering, manufacturing and quality to satisfy customer requirements. Works with vendors to assure KVI supply chain success. Works with customers to meet technical and delivery requirements within KVI framework.
Essential Duties:

2. Quality Engineering and planning exhibiting strong understanding of modern inspection methods.
3. Develops manufacturing plans including methods to process new parts.
4. Designs workholding/tooling demonstrating in-depth comprehension of manufacturing technologies.
5. Designs customer cutting tools.
6. In-depth knowledge of cutting tool availability for various machining various materials and contours/features.
7. Reviews manufacturing plans made by others for compliance with KVI manufacturing and quality requirements.
8. Extensive use of CAD/CAM systems for supporting manufacturing/programming. Working with solid models and programming software (Solidworks/PTC-Creo/Gibbscam, MasterCam, etc.) to build process drawings and machine tool programs.
9. Understands G Code programming.

11. Works with General Shop Foreman to support new tooling utilization and coordinate with key tooling vendors to execute tooling deployment successfully.
12. Works with Engineering Manager for improving process flow and engineering management via Shop Floor Control software (E2).
13. Works with L3Engineer for implementing tooling, gaging and manufacturing process improvements.
14. Develops vendor relationships for key supply-chain support.
Secondary Duties:

2. Supports Quality Assurance for deployment, maintenance and implementation of ISO Quality Systems.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit at computer workstation for extended periods of time.
