The Barrie Database Administrator manages the school's student information database and supports other data systems for the business office, as well as the admission and development departments. The position manages student information and other data systems through their full lifecycle of requirements, assessment, selection, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and retirement. The Database Administrator develops and enhances reports, queries, and related scripts; serves as liaison between end users and database software vendors; provides data reports to school leadership and the board of trustees as requested; and supports and trains faculty, staff, and parents in the use of student information and demographic data.

Manage data integration with additional school systems, including but not limited to:

For the aforementioned systems:

Serve as the main point of contact when communicating with school personnel, software vendors, and contractors.

Fulfill information requests and resolve technical problems.

Coordinate with faculty, staff and parents to ensure data integrity.

Develop user support materials to include procedures, reports, work aids, technical documentation, test plans and test data.

Develop and enhance dashboards, reports, and related queries, scripts as requested

With the IT staff, manage user accounts for students, families, faculty and staff.

In coordination with division administration, ensure the integrity of student attendance data collection for the purpose of ensuring compliance with attendance regulations.

Monitor and ensure compliance with IE, AIMS, NAIS and AMS student data reporting requirements.

Create and maintain standard operating procedures and associated planning calendar/timetable to support school operating processes and ensure accurate data.

With school administration, coordinate execution of database-related standard operating procedures.

Prepare student achievement results in collaboration with division heads.

Train and support staff to ensure proper and efficient system usage.

With IT staff, ensure system updates, backups, and other maintenance to ensure system integrity, responsiveness, and availability.

Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school.
